Melanie Lehrner
Host & Organizer
Melanie is much more than just the partner at the side of winemaker Michael. She is responsible for ensuring that everything in the house runs smoothly and always welcomes visitors to the winery with a warm and friendly smile. Not content with just organizing the winery, she also takes care of the manual work in the vineyards and looks after their two daughters, Marie and Luisa.
Melanie is adventurous and open to trying new things. The winery’s current appearance, with its bold colors and striking patterns, reflects her sense of innovation and the forward-looking spirit needed to stay ahead.
Since May 2018, she has been responsible for guest satisfaction at the WEIN-Träumerei, taking care of every detail with great dedication so that guests can enjoy an unforgettable stay with us.
Michael Lehrner
Winemaker & Cellar Master
Following in the footsteps of his grandfather Paul Iby—almost skipping a generation—Michael took over responsibility for WEIN-GUT IBY-LEHRNER at a young age. With a confident yet approachable manner, Michael now runs an estate of more than 18 hectares as head winemaker and cellar master.
His passion is clearly reflected in the range of wines: Blaufränkisch. He vinifies this grape variety in an impressive diversity, unmatched by many other wineries. Each vintage brings new challenges, which Michael gladly embraces, creating wines that make the differences between the individual vineyard sites of Horitschon clearly perceptible—both in taste and drinkability. A recognizable style and consistently high quality are the core goals of Michael Lehrner.
